Welcome to Te Ao Māori at the Faculty of Education and Social Work
Quality education is at the heart of a healthy society. It’s also a rewarding and satisfying career, so if you’re thinking of studying teaching, social work, or human services you’ve come to the right place.
Located at campuses in Tāmaki Makaurau, Tai Tokerau and Manukau our staff are active in leading-edge teaching and research in the field of Māori Education. But most of all they want to see you succeed and take your place among the Māori educators who are making a difference for our tamariki and rangatahi.
If you’re interested in postgraduate study, our staff list will help you locate potential supervisors in your area of interest. Our academic staff have expertise in the broad areas of Māori-Medium and English curriculum, educational psychology, the sociology of education, student achievement and assessment, and in creating and maintaining school and community partnerships.
Meet some of the Māori students who are studying at the faculty, find out about the support services we offer, and learn about the financial assistance available to Māori students in the directory of scholarships and grants.
